Big Band Caliente is a project that started in the summer of 2005. Marty Knepp had the crazy idea to mix the best of the big band with Latin music. Big Band Caliente wouldnt have gotten off the ground if Mark Tabor didnt kick Marty in the rear. The band started with 6 musicians; 2 Trumpets, 1 Trombone, 3 Saxophones, 2 Rhythm. The band has grown to be a complete big band with some of the areas best damn players. The band plays all styles of Latin music as well as playing the traditional big band charts with a twist.
